Lavrentiy Beria of the NKVD loved making lists until he landed on one himself.

Is there a way to read these articles without creating a subscription? This is the second 404media post to make the front page in the last day, and I don't understand if the commenters here actually happen to be subscribers and can read the article, if there's a way to read it without subscribing (none is posted in the comments, which is unusual for paywalled articles), or if they're just commenting without having read it.

Most HN users are probably pretty familiar with how to use archive sites - here you go:

Oh sure, I see those posted all the time in threads about paywalled articles. I assumed if it wasn't linked in this thread (like it usually is) then it didn't work for this site.

It was always funny hearing americans complain how PITA GDPR is

Well, this is the alternative for having it.

Lol. As though laws would have prevented this.

At this point, they have list of all people thanks to big tech like google, microsoft, fb etc...

son you'd better believe Y-Combinator is handing all account info and posts here over to, like, everyone

and that's assuming you ask; the bots can scrape it easy enough

ICE is now a fascist paramilitary operation, and in my view, they are no longer legitimate. They lost that claim when they began violating the constitutional rights of citizens and immigrants alike as a matter of policy. They must be abolished.

Wrong. Wait and see what happens!

I mean, they aren't there to police the hyper-wealthy, so I'm not sure why you'd expect them to go after those folks... that's like expecting the DEA to go after the CIA.

But to your question: Cuba, actually.

There aren't 20M valid targets for deportation there are around 12M if you add in wrong addresses there are more invalid targets than valid.
